Refiner's Fire

For he will be like a refiner's fire or a launderer's soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Malachi 3:2c-3a

SG is busy helping to organise the church's upcoming annual men's summit Band of Brothers. As the business set in, SG can see how his heart & mood goes up & down. He's need to watch his heart, and not lost focus that he's only just serving. And a servant should learn to be humble & content.

You see, SG is quite an impatient person. And he likes to give his best in many things. Sometimes, he expects others to do the same. But that should not be the case, right? God must be refining his character. Prayers help too.

He's grateful that Karen is supporting him quietly. And also very grateful for the many brothers in church who readily agree to help out, for games & also as team leaders. Else, it's impossible to have a successful event.

Dinner@Pender Road

SG had a wonderful dinner at Natasha's place last Sat, along Pender Road. It was an old two-level house. Very airy. Floor is made of tiles from yester-years, reminding SG of 20 years ago the deco at his grandma's place. It was really a walk down memory lanes.

Food! Amazing feast, including roasted garlic, honey carrots & tasty salad.

Edna & Fatboy

After a fantastic meal, we took a walk along Pender road. It was very surprising to see a very nice church building Danish Seamen's Church.

Only a learning process?

SG was talking with some friends. One was considering whether to continue his relationship with the present girlfriend or not. There seems to be another lady in the picture too.

One advice another friend gave was that there's no perfect match in this world. He spoke from his happy marriage that we shouldn't believe in "made in heaven" or "heavenly matched". Hence, we shuold change our mindset that marriage is a goal. Rather, it's all a process, of learning to accommodate and grow together. And marriage is also the coming together of two families.

SG believe in some truth in this talk. He thought it may not be a complete picture too. A good illustration is an author writing a book. An author must start with an ending in mind. Yes, the ending may change as the author writes & gets new ideas. Still, he has an ending and works towards it.

Therefore, marriage is both a learning process & a goal too.

Oh yes, another word for "love" is "commitement", esp in marriage.
