Growing Up & Reading
SG was talking to a friend who's teaching in all-girls schools for past few years. Fried commented that girls turning 15 are most 'troublesome'; lots of identity 'crisis'. Hope Isabelle won't have this problem. Pray she will always know she's God's child.
Anyway, Isabelle loves to flip & read books. Lots of credit to Karen who cultivate the habit in her. She can remember that her favourite page in certain books and will flip to & fro to search for those pages.
Hope she will keep this habit as she grows older.

Mary vs Martha
SG nearing the end of a very busy semester. Not only full of teaching (both internal & external courses), also lots of projects.
Worse, there is no end in site. "No way to be full time in a few things.", "It will get worse.", "It's all about time management.", etc... lots advice from colleagues.
SG just yearn for days of being Mary, that he can take things slow & reflect more. In fact, he heard about a survey being done in USA among people who are old and dying, and the top 3 things they hope to do differently are (a)take more risks, (b)reflect more & (c)do more things that will last after they are gone.
Of cos, having a little baby & subject to her needs/'moods' (e.g. last few nights keep waking up 2-3am for no reason & refuse to calm down) is not easy. But, hey, she is growing stronger with each passing day!! See for yourself =)
Ultimately, like what Solomon says, "everything is meaningless, unless ..."

The Love Dare (from the moview Fireproof)
SG just watched the DVD Fireproof (). Very good. Inspired but the book used in the movie called The Love Dare:
What am I worthed...
SG was frustrated at work recently. A series of events. Including lots of deadlines & knowing that some of these do not really make a difference to people's lives.
Then he remembered what a leader mentioned, "Don't let others determine your worth; your worth is determined by Christ."
How true! SG decided not to b e tied down by work & others' expectations.

SG's Dear Friend passed away last week
Death came knocking one night.
Speedier than the wind he came & left,
Away a dear friend, a good man, went along.
No time for goodbye nor last word,
Lost for words, little comfort I could offer his dear ones,
Prayers are all I can give deep in my heart.
Rememberance of days gone by lingered,
Like after taste of bitter lemons.
Thank you for your laughter, tears & life.

How many other wives have seen their husbands processing information when suddenly their "screen saver" kicks on? There are times, however, when something seems to happen to his internal processor. Everything locks up, and I feel as if I need to, well, reboot. It's as if I'm living with a computer!
Funny thing is, Richie tells me he's living with a cell phone.
The night he arrived home late, he'd had a long, problem-filled day at work. He'd been looking forward to coming home, to his refuge where he could simply veg out and not have to think.
As he opened the front door, his peace bubble exploded into an outline of the evening's agenda.
